Begin the discovery of the charm of Andalusia by taking a stroll through the streets of the old town, also called Casco Antiguo, starting from the "heart", Orange Square (1485), surrounded by whitewashed houses, the town hall (Ayuntamiento, 1568), the Old Governor's House (1552), the Baroque style Church of Saint Mary (construction began in 1618, with a beautiful cobblestone inlay square) with a main facade adorned with a beautiful red stone entrance, and the Chapel (Hermitage) of Santiago, built in 15th century (the first Christian church in the town). On your tour, you will come across beautifully preserved mosaics at a villa and baths depicting its Roman past and the Arab Walls. To the west of the city centre, don't miss the Mosque which overlooks the Golden Mile, the area between Marbella and Puerto Banus. Puerto Banus is a marina and the landmark of Marbella where the yachts of the rich and famous, center of fashion where you will find high-end boutiques.
If you want a more traditional and fun way to see the area, you can take a horse-driven carriage ride around Marbella and then, walk along the pedestrian walk called Avenida del Mar and Marbella/s main boardwalk, el Paseo Maritimo, where you will be mesmerized by the many shops, kiosks and restaurants on the way, that will tempt you for a stop.

Very popular with younger people is the beach in Nueva Andalucia, just west of Puerto Banus, or the popular and trendy Playa Rio Verde, east of Puerto Banus, quite narrow and generally quieter. Playa de Guadalmina is a quiet beach approximately 1km long, Playa San Pedro de Alcantara, approximately 3km long, with a long seafront promenade and Cortijo Blanco beach at its eastern end. 35 minutes from Marbella center Carvajal Beach, Benalmadena Large urbanized beach (1600m in length).

Marbella is also a very good starting point for visits in many cities in Andalucía. Visiting Granada, Seville, Cordoba and Barcelona is easy from Marbella.
